Dancing

Spot me near a dance floor and you'll find me dancing. It's contagious, so good luck not joining.

If you ever spot me near a dance floor, you’ll find me dancing. I love it so much that I make my dance contagious, so it’ll be hard for you not to join me on the floor.

Holi, a long time ago. I'm the kid in the blue jacket.

I don’t exactly remember the first time, but I think it was my school’s annual function when I was in 4th standard, and the song was “Uthe Sabke Kadam”. What I do have is a YouTube video of me dancing as a kid on Holi, and I’m the one in the blue jacket (the link opens at 8:22, so you can skip everything else and go straight to me).

It has always been my confidence. No training, no steps, and no signature move, which I’d argue is the signature move.

a night out

I dance to almost anything with lyrics, whether it’s Punjabi, Bollywood, Tollywood or anything else. Any Bollywood banger like Chhaiya Chhaiya hits the dance nerve.

night out, take one

I don’t have exact video proof, but whenever we go out specifically for dancing, we end up dancing with the whole floor. These two clips are the closest I’ve got.

night out, take two

The worst moment was during the rehearsals for our farewell dance. I was being authoritative with the rest of the guys, and the teacher looking after the rehearsals said, and I quote, the yellow note.

Haa tum bann jao Remo D’Souza.
(yes, you go be Remo D'Souza)

Remo D’Souza is a very famous choreographer, and no, it was not a compliment. It was the worst, and embarrassing.

Anywhere the right songs are being played is where you’ll find me.

Play the right song, and I’m on the floor.
